Milk Man and The Big Band Knoxville Concert reviews
A+ performance, F venue experience
AMAZING, vocals and band performance, the sound quality, and the special effects were. I would go to another Milk Man and The Big Band concert again in a heartbeat, and it was my kids' first concert and they thoroughly enjoyed it. Upon entry, several guests in front of us were carrying folding chairs that set off the metal detectors but they were allowed to continue entering without going back through the metal detectors without the chairs to check for other items which completely defeated the purpose of the metal detectors. The venue however could use several improvements in security, ticketing, and logistics. For seating, we purchased reserved lawn tickets expecting to have a square of reserved space on the lawn for our own blankets, chairs, etc. so we brought all of our own gear in, only to discover after entry that there were tightly packed rows of low lawn chairs that left no room to put the gear we had brought with us and there is no re-entry allowed to bring it back to the car. Additionally, the tickets we purchased did not indicate that there was an obstructed view, but the view from our seats was of the top of a beverage cart that perfectly obscured the entire stage so I had to wait in line at the box office for more than half an hour to exchange our tickets for seats in the pavilion because the lawn was sold out. The lines for merchandise and food were unbelievable and we waited in lines for another 1.5 hours so we missed the entire first act (Kings Elliot) and most of the second opener (Macklemore). Additionally, the special effects, the sound quality, and the vocals were AMAZING. At any other venue the basic choices of hot dogs, nachos, pizza, etc. would be grab-and-go. Thankfully the restroom accommodations were drastically improved since the last time I was there; more rows of stalls were added and I never had to wait in line. There were too many premium menu options in the main concession lines that slowed everything down; once our order was taken we waited more than 10 minutes for our food because someone had to bring it up front from the kitchen in the back. If they want to offer premium items they should be in a separate stand or food truck for those who are willing to wait for it.
